Compress SVG to 15 KB

Make your SVG smaller and see the actual file size you will upload. Compare three options, check the artwork, then download.

The budget is 15,000 bytes. Some artwork cannot fit without changing the design.

Count the file you upload

This tool uses a conservative 15,000-byte budget. Some services use 15,360 bytes for “15 KB”; check your destination’s rules. The count here is the exact UTF-8 SVG download size, not a rounded KB label or a gzip estimate.

Gzipped sizes look much smaller than the file you actually upload. If you use SVGOMG, turn off Compare gzipped when checking an upload limit. On Windows, check Size in the downloaded file’s Properties, not Size on disk.

Fewer decimal places can change fine details

Keep more detail rounds coordinates to six decimal places, Balanced to three, and Smaller file to two. All three remove redundant SVG code with SVGO 4.0.0. Rounding coordinates can change curves and close narrow gaps. No option is guaranteed to preserve identical geometry.

Compare the original and your chosen result at high zoom. Check the holes in O, A and 8, small lettering, sharp corners and thin bridges. The on-page comparison measures visible pixel differences at the resolution shown. It cannot certify paths, physical dimensions, cutting quality or game compatibility. Keep your original.

Still over 15,000 bytes?

Optimization cannot remove geometry your artwork actually needs. If every option is still over, simplify unnecessary shapes in a vector editor or split the design into several smaller decals, if your destination lets you layer them. Repeatedly compressing the same file may save nothing.

If you are starting with a PNG or JPG, make a real vector trace first. Use a clean source, fewer colors and simpler shapes where appropriate, then check the SVG’s bytes. Renaming a bitmap to .svg or embedding it inside an SVG does not create vector paths.

File size is only one upload requirement

The Gran Turismo 7 manual limits SVG decals to 15 KB and also specifies SVG 1.0 or 1.1, text converted to outlines, no embedded bitmaps and no special blending modes. It does not define whether KB means 1,000 or 1,024 bytes. Being within this tool’s budget does not prove that a game or cutting machine will accept the file; test it in your destination.

Live text is flagged because its appearance depends on fonts. Outline lettering in your editor if your destination requires it, then check the size again: outlines can make the SVG larger. This tool does not outline text or convert strokes into filled shapes.

Local processing and supported files

Compression runs in a browser worker, without sending your artwork to the conversion API. For confidential artwork, open this page directly, wait for Compressor ready, then disconnect before choosing your file. Analytics loaded on another page may remain active after navigation.

Use a static, self-contained UTF-8 SVG under 2 MB (2,000,000 bytes), with at most 10,000 XML nodes and 64 levels of nesting. Scripts, event handlers, external resources, embedded images, animation, DOCTYPE and custom entities are rejected. Live text is allowed with a warning. If compression takes longer than 20 seconds, it stops and gives no result.
